If it were not for Starbucks coffee company, the name chai tea wouldn’t be a house hold name.
I knew about chai tea long before chai tea latte hit mainstream. There’re different chai tea ingredients, but the most dominant ingredients like black tea, cinnamon ቀረፋ and cloves ቅርንፉድ remains with other additions. I pretty much kept the chai tea ingredients, which I have enjoyed growing up in Ethiopia.
This chai tea tej turned out full bodied, warm, spicy and on the sweat side. The spices mix of the chai tea, Korerima ኮረሬማ (a unique spice indigenous to Ethiopia. Closely related to coriander), cloves and the cinnamon bark gave this tej an inticing quality for the matured palate.
PS: We ain't talking about getting too happy here. "Moderate drinking," as defined by the U.S. Department of agriculture is no more than one drink per day for women and no more than two drinks per day for men.
