Allspice takes its name from its aroma - pungent and aromatic, which smells like a combination of spices, especially cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg. Besides being a flavoring agent in baking, cooking and marinating, it has also medicinal attributes.
I use allspice in almost all my cooking and love it. So I flavored a well aged honey mead with a few cracked allspices - ኦልአስፓይስ; the end result was refreshingly warm with gentle sweetness, a hits of liquorish nuance and medium body.
PS: We ain't talking about getting too happy here. "Moderate drinking," as defined by the U.S. Department of agriculture is no more than one drink per day for women and no more than two drinks per day for men.
